Nxtfood raises €49M to become Europe’s plant-based champion

After tripling its revenue in 2024, French start-up Nxtfood (ACCRO brand) has established itself as the fastest-growing specialist in the country’s plant-based retail market. The company announces a record €49M fundraising round to accelerate industrial development and further pursue its European ambitions. 

Founded in 2019 in the Hauts-de-France region, Nxtfood (ACCRO) develops plant-based meat alternatives made from locally grown wheat and pea proteins. Today, it is the fastest-growing plant-based start-up in France, with more than 20 products listed across all major grocery retailers and served in over 10,000 foodservice outlets. B-Corp recertified in 2025 (after 1st certification in 2022), Nxtfood’s mission is to have a positive impact on the climate and to prove that plant-based food can be pure pleasure. 

To take the next step, the company secured renewed support from investors Creadev and Roquette Ventures, and welcomed two new partners, Clay Capital et IRD Invest (Groupe IRD). 

 An ambitious growth plan 

With this new fundraising, Nxtfood aims to reach profitability within 12 to 18 months and to double its revenues in 2025. To achieve this, the company will focus investments on three key priorities: 

• Expanding its production site in Vitry-en-Artois, France, tripling its footprint to 12,000 square meters; 

• Strengthening R&D to consolidate its technological edge in wet extrusion; 

• Accelerating sales and marketing — in France through its ACCRO brand, and in Europe by focusing on B2B and co-manufacturing opportunities.

Renewed confidence from historical investors and arrival of new strategic partners 

Already supported by Creadev and Roquette Ventures, Nxtfood sees its historical shareholders strengthen their commitment, while two new strategic investors, Clay Capital and IRD Invest (Groupe IRD), join the adventure. Together, they bring complementary expertise to support the company in its next growth phase and European expansion. 

 Creadev, the impact fund of Mulliez Family Association (AFM), becomes majority shareholder and confirms its long-term commitment, while Roquette Ventures, the Corporate Venture Capital (CVC) arm of Roquette group, continues to provide its sector and industrial expertise.
